Evidence-based outpatient treatment for depression — licensed therapists, psychiatric support, and a program built around your life.
Depression is more than sadness — it's a persistent condition that can affect energy, motivation, sleep, appetite, and the ability to find meaning in daily life. It's also treatable. Many people wait years before getting help, often because depression itself makes it hard to take the first step.
The Barbell Saves Outpatient Center provides medically supervised, evidence-based outpatient treatment for depression in Phoenix, AZ. You don't need a co-occurring substance use disorder to be treated here — we treat depression on its own, as well as alongside substance use, which is common and which we address together rather than separately.
If you're having thoughts of harming yourself, please call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) right now, or go to your nearest emergency room. Our program is not a crisis service.
Treatment starts with a full clinical assessment to understand your history, symptoms, and what's contributing to your depression. From there, your plan may include individual counseling, group therapy, psychiatric evaluation and medication management when appropriate, and movement-based care — physical activity has real, evidence-backed effects on mood, and it's built into our program rather than treated as separate from clinical care.
If depression is occurring alongside substance use, we treat both together through our Adult IOP. Trying to address one without the other rarely leads to lasting improvement in either.
Level of care: Outpatient IOP or individual counseling, depending on severity.
Includes: Individual & group therapy, psychiatric evaluation, medication management.
Co-occurring care: Treated alongside substance use when relevant — or on its own.
Insurance accepted: AHCCCS, Banner, Aetna, BCBS, Medicare, and most major plans.
Location: 11042 N 24th Ave, Suites 102 & 103, Phoenix, AZ 85029
